Sherbrooke, May 8 - The Réseau Compétences des développeurs économiques de l'Estrie has awarded the Bâtisseur 2024 prize to Daniel Pitre of SADC des Sources. This distinction is awarded annually to a member with more than 10 years' involvement, and who has a significant regional influence through his or her actions in Estrie economic development.
"Mr. Pitre has been Director of Community Development for 30 years. With a master's degree in local development, he has developed a vision of territorial development that combines the economic, social and environmental components that, in his opinion, are the pillars of local development. As he puts it so well: "Local development is the whole of development and includes economic development". In addition, he was in charge of the coordinating committee for the MRC des Sources' Agenda 21 strategic planning project for nearly 10 years, until recently. A visionary with the ability to look to the future, he was able to mobilize the community's vital forces around this collective project.
Surrounded by his colleagues, Mr. Pitre emphasized the importance of establishing partnerships in development projects.
